Archive - July, 2005This past weekend Jen & I went up to Bancroft to attend Toby & Miriam's wedding. The ceremony was great and had a real personal touch to it. Miriam's Dad married them since he's a minister, and they tied the knot on thier family farm. Through the tall grass, a long walkway was cut where we all walked out to a patch of trees to take some cover from the sun. Miriam arrived in the pillow-padded bucket of a tractor with her mother, hoisted atleast 10 feet into the air. And who was driving? Her Dad :) He let them down and she walked up the runway where Toby was waiting for her on a mount at the front. The ceremony took place a little after noon and was fairly breif. THe reception followed right away were we enjoyed a late lunch and an open bar. It was the whole Waterfront crowd from Toronto, displaced on a farm, having lots of beers and lots of fun. Jen & I really enjoyed our weekend getaway. We stayed at the Bancroft Motor Inn. Not the fanciest place I've ever stayed, but it did the trick :) This weekend we are heading down to my folks' place for the long weekend. I'm hoping the weather's nice so we can lounge around the pool :) On Sunday we're going to Cedar Point Amusement Park. It's probably been about 10 years since my last visit there and I am really looking forward to it. It's going to be so much fun. Anyway, I guess that's all for now. I can't believe it's almost August! The summer is flying by!!! Unfortunately I haven't done much blading and the 500 KM goal is seeming harder and harder to meet. It's just been soooo hot out! Once it cools off a little I'll get back out there and start racking up the clicks again. OK... goodnight folks!
----- 07.21.2005 -------- On another topic, tomorrow Jen & I are going up to Bancroft for my friends Toby & Miriam's wedding. It should be a good time. The wedding itself will be pretty casual, on her parents' farm. I'm really looking forward to it! I'm also looking forward to another weekend out of the city! Cottage country, here we come! Anyway, I guess that's all for now. I better pack and get to bed! Have a great weekend everyone!

The rest of the time we just relaxed at Jen's mom's place. We watched a couple movies, one of which was Million Dollar Baby, which I really enjoyed. The other was Miss Congeniality 2. What can I say.... I was outnumbered in the video store!!! Her Mom's got a dog and a cat... Mickey the yorkie, and Tucker the cat. I'll attach a great action shot of them going at it. They get along really well and their fights are really tame, although this pic doesn't seem to indicate that! What else? Oh ya.... funniest thing when Jen & I went for brunch. We went to a "Mike's" and I was pretty impressed with the breakie menu. I got the brunch platter which had a fruit cocktail to start, eggs, bacon, sausage, crepe, french toast, and toast. Oh ya, and a piece of cheese. That was the funny part! The platter was beatifully arranged on the plate, just like the picture in the menu. One thing didn't quite match though. The menu had a nice slice of cheddar... almost gourmet looking. And my platter? A kraft single, folded in half! I couldn't believe it! If I were them and we were out of cheddar, I'd serve it without the cheddar. Hey, I guess atleast they took the plastic off, right? lol Anyway, that's about it for me. I think I am off to bed right now in my sweltering condo! The A/C went out on me!!! I had someone in friday to look at it, and they are coming back tomorrow with a new motor to fix it. $350 later.... but what am I to do? It's been over 30 everyday for over a week now... I think the A/C is a priority! Hopefully I'll come home tomorrow after work to an ice box :) OK, have a good night everyone. Hope you're all enjoying your summer. Cheers!

Anyway, I got back Sunday night (July 10th). We had to get back in time to go see the Black Eyed Peas. Jen & I went, along with Laura (my sister) & her boyfriend Tom. It was a great concert and they really know how to work a crowd! The seats were awesome.... 8th row! Anyway, It's getting late and I have a big day at work tomorrow so I better cash in. However, I did get Camping Pictures posted for you as soon as I could (which happened to be tonight). Enjoy! If you see any pics you really like, let me know and I can email you the much larger, more detailed originals. Cheers!
